We are supporting a top 10 accountancy firm in their search for a Payroll Executive to join their busy team.
Job description
You will manage end-to-end payroll processing for a portfolio of clients, ensuring payrolls are delivered accurately and on time while maintaining compliance with payroll legislation and auto-enrolment requirements.
This role is ideal for an experienced payroll professional who enjoys delivering accurate, compliant payroll services and building strong relationships with clients.
Main Responsibilities:
- Process end-to-end payrolls for a portfolio of clients.
- Ensure payrolls are completed accurately and within agreed deadlines.
- Input payroll data, perform audit and validation checks, and manage payroll interfaces with pension and general ledger systems.
- Monitor and process SSP, SMP, and other statutory payments.
- Complete year-end payroll reporting where required.
- Administer auto-enrolment and pension compliance processes.
- Manage payroll-related changes within time and attendance systems.
- Act as a first point of contact for payroll queries from clients and employees.
- Carry out peer checking of payrolls to ensure accuracy.
- Liaise with clients, HMRC, pension providers, and other third parties.
- Support the wider payroll team with administrative duties and collaborative working.
- Keep up to date with payroll legislation and industry changes through ongoing learning and research.
Ideal Candidate:
- Previous payroll administration experience, ideally within a bureau or service-driven environment.
- Experience processing payroll from start to finish, including pensions, benefits, and statutory payments.
- Strong understanding of payroll legislation and auto-enrolment regulations.
- Ability to manually calculate payroll when required.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple deadlines.
- Strong customer service skills and confidence handling queries by phone and email.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced and changing environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
