Overview and Opportunity
 
Achieve Professionals are supporting a growing Law Firm based in Newcastle City Centre with the appointment of Accounts Assistant to support their internal Finance team.
 
Role Responsibilities 

  • Manage the credit control process by issuing reminder letters, payment links and Letters Before Action where appropriate.
  • Proactively follow up on outstanding balances to secure timely payment.
  • Liaise confidently with fee earners to support effective debt recovery. 
  • Maintain accurate and up to date records of all communications and outcomes. 
  • Produce clear, concise and accurate reports for the Finance Director. 
  • Reconcile credit card transactions using the firm’s case management system.
  • Investigate, resolve and document discrepancies promptly.
  • Process supplier invoices, ensuring accuracy and appropriate authorisation. 
  • Schedule and process supplier payments in line with agreed terms and deadlines.
  • Respond to finance related queries from clients, colleagues and suppliers.
  • Provide guidance on payments, transactions and internal financial procedures. 
  • Undertake ad hoc finance tasks as required to support the wider finance team.

Candidate Requirements 

  • Experience within a law firm would be advantageous.
  • Positive and proactive attitude.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Provide excellent client care.
