We are supporting a global accountancy firm in their search for an ABAS Senior/Assistant Manager for their South London branch.
Job description
As an ABAS Senior, you will manage the preparation of client accounts, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and deadlines. You may oversee junior staff, review work, and handle complex financial tasks like finalising accounts and reviewing prepared tax computations.
Main Responsibilities:
- Prepare and finalise client accounts in line with accounting standards and deadlines.
- Review work from junior team members and provide coaching and feedback.
- Oversee complex financial tasks, including tax computations and deferred tax calculations
- Manage budgets, track progress, and communicate any overruns or additional services.
- Build strong client relationships and identify opportunities for added value.
- Ensure quality, accuracy, and consistency across all deliverables.
- Support the wider team with workflow planning and performance management.
- Promote and live our company values in everything you do.
Ideal Candidate:
- ACA or ACCA qualified, with at least 12-18 months post-qualified experience in practice.
- Strong technical knowledge of FRS 105, FRS 102, IFRS, and related disclosure requirements.
- Experience preparing medium-risk accounts and managing complex accounting tasks.
- Skilled in VAT, PSA, benefit in kind, and capital gains tax considerations.
- Confident communicator who can explain technical concepts clearly to clients.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple deadlines.
- Experience using Xero and DEXT, and supporting clients with in-house bookkeeping systems.
- A natural team player who enjoys coaching and developing others.
