Role: Audit Manager
Location: Plymouth
Salary: Up to £55,000 DOE
The role:
Our Client is seeking an experienced Audit Manager to join a busy and expanding audit team based in Plymouth. This role involves managing and overseeing the delivery of audit engagements for a varied client portfolio, building strong client relationships, and supporting business growth initiatives. Some travel to other offices and client sites will be required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, manage, control, and conduct audit fieldwork under the direction of senior management
- Monitor audit delivery performance against agreed KPIs and propose solutions to any issues
- Manage preparation of financial statements for audit and non-audit clients
- Build and maintain strong client relationships
- Interpret and communicate complex technical accounting and auditing issues clearly and practically
- Lead, develop, and mentor junior team members
- Conduct technical research and provide advice to clients and colleagues
- Support senior management in business development, departmental growth, and performance improvements
- Network within local business communities
- Work across client sites and offices in the region as required
Candidate Profile:
- ACA or ACCA qualified or part-qualified with significant audit experience
- Proven experience in leading, coaching, and supervising junior staff
- Outgoing, socially confident, and emotionally resilient
- Able to multi-task and work independently
- Adaptable, organised, and conscientious
- Professional and team-oriented approach
- Strong knowledge of UK Financial Reporting Standards and International Auditing Standards
- Advanced Excel skills, competent in Word and Outlook
- Experience with Caseware audit software is a plus
- Familiarity with Sage Accounts software advantageous
