Job Description
You’ll work with a diverse client portfolio—ranging from thriving SMEs to more complex, larger businesses—offering variety, challenge, and the chance to develop your skills in all the right ways. Expect a healthy mix of audit and accounts work, plenty of client interaction, and a real say in how jobs are delivered.
Role Responsibilities
- Preparing financial statements under FRS105, FRS102, and FRS102 section 1a
- Supporting audits from planning to completion using a cutting-edge electronic audit file system
- Supervising and developing junior team members
- Undertaking a mix of on-site audits and office-based work (mostly York-based)
- Building strong relationships with a wide range of clients and stakeholders
- Drafting Corporation Tax computations
- Pitching in with ad hoc tasks and exciting new challenges as they arise
Candidate Requirements
- Essential requirements and/or qualifications
- Strong proficiency of accounting software packages including Xero, Sage, Quickbooks and Freeagent
- Experience in preparation and review of accounts and VAT returns.
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role
- Proven experience in workflow supervision or a similar role
- Good knowledge of VAT rules
- Some income tax knowledge would be useful
