Achieve Professionals are working with a global manufacturing firm in Cramlington in their search for an Accounts Payable Administrator.
Job Description
In this role, you will be responsible for handling the full cycle of accounts payable activity from process, tracking, and recording invoices through to processing payments in a timely and efficient manner.
This role covers the companies invoicing across EMEA.
Role Responsibilities
- Verifying vendor invoices and ensuring they are approved before processing them for timely payment
- Resolving all invoice/purchase order queries and discrepancies in a timely manner and professional manner
- Running both the domestic and international payment runs, and associated file creations for upload to the bank
- Maintaining the GR/IR clearing account to reduce the risk of accounting errors
- Setting up new vendor accounts and amending existing vendor details as necessary
- Supporting the month end process by preparing required documentation within the specific timeframe
- Assisting with audits by providing audit schedules and support documentation
- Ensuring all activities are carried out in compliance with defined internal controls.
- Reporting Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s).
- Continually reviewing processes to maximise efficiencies.
- Adhering to agreed processes and controls, ensuring compliance with best practice.
- Performing other similar duties and responsibilities as and when required to support the finance team.
Candidate Requirements
- At least 2 years previous experience in a similar Accounts Payable role, with prior experience of working with SAP.
- Proficient in Microsoft packages, specifically Excel, Word, Outlook.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate appropriately with different stakeholders and build strong working relationships.
- Excellent planning and organisational skills including the ability to work to meet deadlines and prioritise workloads where necessary.
- The ability to demonstrate a positive attitude and flexible approach to work.
- The ability to work on your own initiative and as a member of a team.
- English language skills are essential and additional European language skills would be a distinct advantage.
