Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 per annum

Role Overview:
We are seeking an Audit Assistant Manager for a well-established SME in Newcastle upon Tyne that is looking to expand its team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in leading and managing audits from planning to completion, ensuring compliance with UK auditing standards.
- Supervise and support a team of auditors, providing guidance and training as needed.
- Maintain and build strong relationships with clients, addressing any queries and offering advisory services.
- Review financial statements and working papers to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Support the audit manager in managing client portfolios and ensuring deadlines are met.
- Help with the preparation of reports and ensuring audits are delivered on time and within budget.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of audit processes and procedures.
Candidate Requirements
- ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent) with a strong foundation in audit.
- At least 3 years of experience in an audit role, with some experience in managing audits or teams.
- Solid understanding of UK GAAP, IFRS, and relevant auditing standards.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and work effectively with teams.
- Organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency with audit software and Microsoft Office.
