Our client, a growing and reputable organisation based in Stockton-on-Tees, is seeking a skilled and motivated Management Accountant to join their dynamic team. This Management Accountant position is working in a practice environment completing retained work on behalf of clients. This firm acts as an outsourced, retained finance team to businesses.
The ideal candidate for this role will have a positive and proactive personality and will have previous experience working within a similar, client-facing role.
This is a full-time office-based position in the firm’s Stockton-on-Tees site, but candidates will, at times,be required to travel to client’s offices.
Responsibilities:
- Preparation of Client Management Accounts
- Analyse financial information to assist clients profitability and growth
- Provide accurate and sound management reporting to assist with key decision making
- Produce month end and year end journals
- Prepare statutory and management accounts
- Contribute to annual budgeting and planning process
- Produce financial statements including P&L accounts, cash flows, variance analysis and commentaries
- Develop, maintain, and update financial forecast models to support decision-making processes
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to create annual budgets and ensure alignment with strategic objectives
- Provide clear and concise financial reports to key stakeholders, highlighting trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
- Ensure adherence to financial policies, procedures, and statutory regulations.
Essential Requirements and Qualifications:
- AAT Level 4 Accountant with minimum 3 years experience
- Proven technical ability
- Understanding of modern management information systems
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate at all levels with both co-workers and clients
- Intellectual with a strong commercial acumen
- Have excellent attention to detail, possess good initiative and be able to work independently
- Be a confident communicator
- Have experience with a variation of accounting software (Xero, Sage, FreeAgent, etc.)
- Experience and confidence in using the Microsoft 365 package, especially with Excel
