We are working with an Accountancy Practice in Scotland in their search for an experienced Accountant, with a salary on offer of £34,000-£43,000 per year.
 
The ideal candidate for this role will have a positive and proactive personality and will have previous experience working within a similar, client-facing role. 
 
This is a full-time office-based position in the firm’s Stockton-on-Tees site, but candidates will, at times, be required to travel to client’s offices.
 
Responsibilities:

• Preparation of annual accounts, business tax and personal tax
• Identification of tax issues
• Provide support, assistance and cover for team members as and when required, and supporting junior members of the team
• Review work of junior members of the team and feedback any strengths or areas of improvement
• Keep up to date with all relevant accounting and tax developments
• Maintain a log of CPD activities undertaken and host training sessions for staff and clients as and when appropriate
• Communicate with clients to obtain all relevant information required for staff and clients
• Preparing fee proposals and terms of engagement for clients prior to work being carried out
• Ensure all relevant deadlines are met regarding the lodging of accounts and tax returns 

Essential Requirements and Qualifications:

• Previous experience as an Accountant/Accounts Manager for an accountancy firm 
• An accounting qualification and ICAS/ACCA qualification
• Positive attitude willing to come in and support the team in their development
