Role Overview:
As a Junior Finance Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the Finance team, ensuring the seamless processing of financial transactions and maintaining meticulous financial records. The position involves managing both accounts payable and receivable duties, conducting monthly reconciliations, and assisting in the preparation of key financial reports. You will work closely with your colleagues to ensure that financial data is kept accurate, up-to-date, and compliant with internal procedures and regulations.
In addition to these core responsibilities, you will assist with tracking expenses, maintaining financial documentation, and providing general administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of the finance function. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in finance while contributing to the company’s continued success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage accounts payable and receivable transactions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Perform monthly reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records.
- Support the preparation of financial reports and other documentation.
- Assist with expense tracking and other general administrative tasks.
- Ensure all financial data is up-to-date and compliant with internal and external regulations.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency of the finance team through proactive support and organisational skills.
Requirements:
- Minimum of A-Level qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (a diploma or degree is an advantage).
- Familiarity with financial software or a willingness to learn (prior experience with accounting software is a plus).
- Strong numerical and analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, with a basic understanding of financial formulas and calculations.
- Ability to work accurately under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
- Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively.
- Prior experience in a finance or accounting role is advantageous, but not essential.
- Experience in an internship or trainee role within a finance department is beneficial.
- A proactive attitude, with a strong willingness to learn and contribute to the team’s success.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a professional approach.
