We are supporting our client in their search for a new Senior Bookkeeper for their firm in Stockton-on-Tees, with a salary on offer of up to £30,000 per year.
The ideal candidate for this role will have a positive and proactive personality and will have previous experience working within a similar, client-facing role.
This is a full-time office-based position in the firm’s Stockton-on-Tees site, but candidates will, at times, be required to travel to client’s offices.
Responsibilities:
- Managing day-to-day bookkeeping activities across a portfolio of clients
- Sales ledger including raising invoices and credit control
- Purchase ledger including reconciling supplier statements
- Processing and reconciling bank transactions
- Preparing VAT returns
- Preparing and posting journals
- Making payments to suppliers and creditors
- Checking and processing expense claims
- Liaising and working directly with a range of external clients
Essential Requirements and Qualifications:
- Have experience Senior Bookkeeper, or similar
- Have excellent attention to detail, possess good initiative and be able to work independently
- Be a confident communicator
- Have experience with a variation of accounting software (Xero, Sage, FreeAgent, etc.)
- Experience and confidence in using he Microsoft 365 package, especially with Excel
- Ideally AAT Level 2 or Level 3 qualified (or equivalent), but not essential
