We are looking for an experienced Compliance Auditor to join a full service law firm in Newcastle upon Tyne.

Job Description
- Plan and conduct monthly quality audits on fee earners to ensure that practices, records and controls are in compliance with regulations and accreditation requirements.
- Perform risk assessments and internal control evaluations. Detect and report any discrepancies.
- Create and maintain a quality log for all audits. Identify any trends and training requirements.
- Liaise with other stakeholders to calibrate audits, implement best practices and drive performance improvements.
- Analyse historical data to build quality improvement initiatives and drive quality strategies across all departments.
- Evaluate audit findings and ensure the implementation of appropriate corrective actions (with supervisor).
- Manage firm-wide performance through insightful communications and contributions to team meetings.
- Execute existing interpretation of regulatory requirements and quality standards.
- Ensure established random and focused audits are performed and completed in a timely basis.
- Prepare quality reports to be presented to key stakeholders (Senior Management etc), including all relevant documentation and information.
- Assist the Head of Risk and Compliance and COLP with preparation for external audits, accreditations and compliance assessments.
- Monitor the implementation of external audit recommendations and execute remedial actions.
- Stay updated with the latest sector regulations and best practices in internal auditing.
Person Specification
- Experience of working in a regulated environment, preferably in the legal sector
- Strong research & analytical skills
- Great attention to detail
- Good communication skills
- Having a qualification in this area is not essential, but may be beneficial
