We are seeking a highly skilled and qualified accountant to join our client’s growing Audit & Assurance team. This role offers an exciting opportunity for an individual with a strong audit background to manage complex audits, develop junior staff, and build long-term relationships with clients.
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop a comprehensive audit planning memorandum and discuss with senior management.
- Conduct audits in compliance with the firm’s established procedures, collaborating with senior team members as required.
- Oversee the progress of audit assignments, ensuring deadlines and budgets are adhered to, addressing any issues that may arise.
- Supervise and review the work of junior staff, both on-site and in the office, and complete sections as needed.
- Sign off on audit sections, address any outstanding issues, and ensure all files are completed before passing them to senior management for review.
- Prepare financial statements for key clients, ensuring compliance with internal procedures and budget expectations.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
- Fully ACA or ACCA qualified with significant practice experience.
- Proven track record of leading audits from planning to completion, working with commercial clients.
- Strong skills in accounts preparation and managing audit processes.
- Experience with audit software such as CaseWare, alongside proficiency in MS Excel and Word.
- Experience supervising junior staff and helping them develop professionally.
- In-depth technical knowledge, particularly of FRS 102.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and team members.
- Organised and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
- Client-focused, with a commercial mindset and strong problem-solving abilities.
