Overview and Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Private Client Solicitor or Legal Executive to join a well-established law firm in Teesside. This is a particularly exciting opportunity for an ambitious lawyer to take on a key role within the firm’s Private Client department and help shape its future growth.
 
The successful candidate will step into a position with significant responsibility and autonomy, working closely with the wider partnership while leading the development of the department. The firm has a strong reputation locally and works with a longstanding client base, including high-net-worth individuals and complex estates.
 
Responsibilities:

• Draft, review, and advise on Wills, Powers of Attorney, Trusts, and related Private Client matters
• Assist clients with estate administration and Probate matters, including applying for Grants of Probate and managing estate distributions
• Handle a varied caseload including Wills, Probate, Trusts, Lasting Powers of Attorney and Deputyship matters
• Provide clear, practical advice to clients while maintaining a high level of professionalism and empathy
• Manage your own caseload efficiently while maintaining excellent standards of client care
• Work closely with partners and colleagues to support the growth and development of the department
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and professional referrers

Requirements:

• Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with experience in Private Client work (Ideally 2+ years’ PQE in a similar role)
• Experience managing your own Private Client caseload independently
• STEP qualification desirable but not essential
• Strong client-facing and communication skills
• Ambition to develop within the firm and contribute to the growth of the department
