About the Role
 
A growing and highly regarded accountancy practice is looking to appoint an experienced Audit Senior to join its expanding team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ACA/ACCA/CA-qualified professional, or someone nearing qualification, who is looking to take the next step in their career and gain greater responsibility across a varied portfolio of clients.
You will play a key role in delivering high-quality audit work from planning through to completion, while also supporting junior members of the team and developing strong client relationships.
 
Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver audit assignments from initial planning through to completion, ensuring compliance with UK auditing standards.
  • Take ownership of key areas of audit engagements, carrying out detailed substantive and analytical procedures.
  • Attend client sites where required and build a strong understanding of their businesses, processes and financial reporting.
  • Prepare statutory accounts using information provided by clients and identify key risks, technical matters and areas requiring further review.
  • Review work completed by junior team members, providing constructive feedback and helping to develop their technical capabilities.
  • Work closely with Managers and Partners, keeping them informed of progress, risks and significant audit findings.
  • Develop effective relationships with clients and act as a trusted point of contact throughout assignments.
  • Contribute to the continued growth and development of the wider audit team.

About You
 

  • ACA, ACCA or CA qualification, or who is within approximately 12 months of qualifying.
  • Previous experience working within a UK accountancy practice and delivering audit assignments.
  • Strong technical knowledge of audit and UK accounting standards.
  • The ability to take ownership of audit assignments or individual sections from planning through to completion.
  • Experience reviewing and supporting junior members of an audit team.
  • Confidence communicating directly with clients and discussing audit findings and requirements.
  • A proactive and commercially minded approach, with the ability to identify issues and escalate them appropriately.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing deadlines.
