We are seeking a Criminal Solicitor to join this leading Legal 500 Law Firm in Newcastle.
 
Job Description:
You will be working in a team of well experienced solicitors, working with a diverse range of clients and representing clients through the criminal justice system. You will have the opportunity to advance and grow your career with a rewarding firm. 
 
Role Responsibilities:

• Advise and represent clients at police stations, Magistrates’ Court, and Crown Court.
• Gather evidence, interview witnesses, review police and prosecution files, and prepare legal arguments.
• Provide clear legal advice to clients on charges, plea options, and potential outcomes.
• Communicate with police, CPS, barristers, courts, and probation services.
• Conduct advocacy in court, including bail applications, mitigation, and full trials in lower courts.
• Manage Legal Aid applications and ensure compliance with legal and professional standards.

Candidate Requirements:

• Qualified Duty Solicitor is highly desirable
• Police Station Accredited is desirable
• Higher advocate in the Crown Court is also desirable but not essential
