Role: Assistant Financial Controller
Salary: £35,000 
Location: North Yorkshire 

We are delighted to be partnered with our fantastic luxury hotel client who are looking to add an experienced Assistant Financial Controller to their finance team.
 
Role Responsibilities:
• Overseeing the daily reconciliation of cash and credit cards to sales for the
leisure business
• Processing invoices via the purchase order system ready for export to the
finance system
• Producing rent demands for the rural business
• Chase all outstanding debt for both Leisure and Rural business
• Post all BACS receipts to Reslynx & Sage as and when received
• Liaise with the Events and Reservations teams on receipt of all deposits
• Reconcile all revenues in Reslynx with EPOS to maximise revenue capture
• Cover for the administrative duties of other members of the accounts team
• Occasional support of other departments in times of crisis
• Bank reconciliations of various accounts
• Ensure financial records are accurate and up to date
• Assist in the production of Monthly Management accounts
• Assist with the preparation of year end files for external auditors
• Provide on the job training support to new team members as needed
• Assist with implementation of process improvements
 
Team Responsibilities:
• Promote effective communication within the department by being receptive
to issues communicated to you and to ensure that you pass on all relevant
communications from colleagues or guests to the appropriate person
• To react to all customer requests positively and deal with them appropriately
• Liaise with all Staff as and when required and provide assistance where
appropriate
• Work with other members of the team and respect their challenges and
pressures
• Establish and maintain effective employee relations both within the finance
department and across other hotel and estate departments
• Carry out additional requests and duties as instructed by the supervisor /
senior manager on duty
 
Quality and Health & Safety: 
• To ensure that data is available to other members of the team as required
• Promote the image of the business as a professional organisation at all times
• Comply with all security and maintenance measures to ensure the protection
of guests and company property
• Comply with all Company policies and legal requirements with special
reference to Health and Safety
• Be willing to help wherever possible and to understand the flexibility required
when business levels peak and trough, to deliver the best possible service
• To report for duty on time, in the correct uniform and groomed in accordance
with the grooming standards
• To attend all training courses as scheduled and instructed to do so
• Adherence of departmental emergency and fire safety procedures
• Ensure that any potential and real hazards are reported appropriately and
immediately
• Work in a safe manner that does not harm or injure yourself or others
• Maintain own working area, keeping materials and products clean, tidy and in a safe and sanitary condition and report any defective materials and
equipment
